Wine Appreciation Class - Back to Basics

- Grape varietals
- How wines are made
- Classification of wines (new world / old world)
- Tasting / walkthrough of wine

Wine Tasting Session: German Wine Showcase

4 German wines (2 red, 2 white) and assorted cheeses will be served.

Non-NTUC members: $42/pax

Wine Appreciation Class - How to taste wines the right way

Explore wines using your senses:

Sight - Color of wines & appearance

Smell - Smelling & swirling

Taste - Texture & Body

4 steps to tasting – Suck, Swish, Swallow, Balance

3 wines will be served: Red, White & dessert

Lesson Date: Will start with enough registrants

Cocoa & Wine Baking Class cum Food Pairing (Demonstration)

Chocolates are usually enjoyed with wines. In this session, Sam will be showing you how we can serve and pair cocoa desserts with wines.

Recipes:
Light Chocolate Walnut Brownies with Chocolate Sauce – Light airy texture, packed with roasted walnuts, this light chocolate brownie should be served warm with a scoop of ice cream topped with a liquored mint chocolate sauce.

Rum Truffles – Quick and easy to do, great to serve with wines.
Cost per Person: S$70 (Minimum of 10 persons to start) includes a free glass of wine. Special Price: S$120 for 2 people.

Notes: Each participant will get a sliced of brownie and some truffles packed in a container. Recipes will be provided; participants may wish to bring writing materials to jot down additional notes.

Cheese & Wine Baking Class cum Wine Pairing (Demonstration)

Usually, the types of cheese consumed with wine are savoury. Sam will be showing you how we can serve and pair cheese desserts with wines.

Recipes:
Tiramisu – Learn the techniques of how to make this traditional Italian dessert filled with rich mascarpone cheese and coffee liquor that would wow your guests at your next high tea party.

Orange Liquored Cheese Cake – Baked liquored cheesecake. Learn the proper method to bake a cheesecake.

Cost per Person: S$70 (Minimum of 10 persons to start) includes a free glass of wine. Special Price: S$120 for 2 people.

Notes: Each participant will get a cup of tiramisu each and a sliced of baked cheesecake packed in a container. Recipes will be provided; participants may wish to bring writing materials to jot down additional notes.


Lesson Date: April 12th (Saturday), 5 pm sharp


Wines doesn't have to go with just steaks, caviar or lobsters. It can go very well with asian foods too!

Singapore has a wide variety of local cuisine, and this lessons, we'll be teaching you how to pair wines with local desserts.

Having a small dinner party for friends? What kind of wine glasses should you use? Is there a difference?

Come and learn:
- Types of wine glasses
- What to use for reds, whites & champagnes
- When to open your wines
- What wines to serve as an aperitif, or with foods
- How to setup a wine cellar

Lesson Date: May 15th (Thursday), 7 pm sharp

Very often, we simply open a bottle of wine, and find that letting it sit for a while, or "breathe", improves the taste of the wine.

Learn how decanters have traditionally been used, and some very modern alternatives. Taste the before, and after!

Thus, in this session, you will be able to learn:
- Why should we decant wines
- Choosing a decanter
- How to decant
- Modern decanters

2 wines (red/white) & a special concoction will be served

Lesson Date: May 30th (Friday), 7 pm sharp

In this session, we will be experiencing some exotic wines. The theme will be "Warmth of the Mediterranean":
- Origins of Wine
- Some Theories & Fables
- Prominent Wine Growing Regions of the Mediterranean
- Popular Native Grape Varieties of the Regions
- Savoring wines of famous grape varieties from the Mediterranean
- Contrasting wines of famous grape varieties from other regions of the world 

3 wines (red, white & dessert) will be served

b. Cash/credit card at our outlet after 5.30 pm, Mondays to Saturdays.

Please note that we will verify your status as a Young NTUC member on the day of the event. Non-NTUC members who chose the discounted rates, will be asked to pay the difference.

We conduct classes for both customers and corporate clients. For walk-in customers, classes will only start when we have a minimum class size of 12.

The 2 types of classes we conduct are:

Wine Appreciation Classes

Our themed classes are approximately 60-90 mins long, and topics vary with each lesson. Favourites so far have been:
"Wine know-how for the busy executive"
"Important notes for the socialite: how not to make a faux pas at events"
"Act like an expert in 90 mins".

Corporate customers may request for specific topics to be covered.


Food Pairing Classes
